Mountains and miles and miles of fields now brown and dry with an occasional old well used before irrigation. Lots of poplar trees. Western part of Central Anatolia called the Anatolian Plateau. Reforestation was part of the 1981 100 year celebration of Ataturk.

Passed a community with black and white cows, a boy and a donkey, turkeys surrounded by a mud wall. Brown cows guarded by one man with a rifle.

Hoca or Hodja Nasrettin is a man who tells Aesop type fables. Lunch at a place that claims him. Cafeteria style truck stop. Heads of stuffed animals on the walls (including the body of a snow leopard). Ate egg plant stuffed with meat, yogurt, very good creamy rice pudding.
