 After breakfast we drove to the square where they were having a Constitution Day celebration at the Concert Hall.  It was a wonderful outside concert with dignitaries seated there.  There was a large mixed choir and full orchestra, military band, string ensemble and opera singers.  We left the concert hall and hopped on a cable car to the top of Kok-Tube Mountain with an observation deck where we looked out over Almaty and to the steppes beyond the city.  Our bus collected us and took us to Medeo where is a huge ice rink in winter and skating rink in summer.  This is built near an earthen dam that helps control the flooding of the city of Almaty. 

We had lunch at an aelaborate yurt restaurant and Nazar seng a couple of songs to us from Kyrgyzystan. We stopped at the Silk Road Way on the way to our hotel and visited the internet café.  We had dinner at a fine Turkish Restaurant outside.
