2008 Mongolia Today we visited the National History Museum of Mongolia, which is nicely laid out following historically from Paleolithic times to present day. Descriptions are in both Mongolian and English with attractive showcases. Next we were taken to the Cashmere factory which had modern equipment used in the processing of the wool but since it is so fine there is much to be done by hand-looking for snags, making garments and thorough inspection of the finished product. There was room after room dedicated to just one process. No wonder it is so expensive. For sale in their showroom were goat and camel clothing. Lunch today at a Thai restaurant. The group went to the Natural History Museum with the largest dinosaur skeletons in the world. Barbara and I went to the post office to email and walked home. Later we went to the State Department store, a felt shop before ending our afternoon at the Rsuki center that featured Mongolian Song and Dance Ensemble Tumen Ekh performing different musical styles, instruments and vocal styles.
